Welcome to my brand new crafty blog.
My Crafty Story is a long one and really began when I was a child.I remember sitting for hours watching my Gran Knitting. As I got older I wanted to learn to knit so she taught me. I knitted a lot of things for myself as I got better. When my children were small I knitted a lot of clothes for them, I loved to knit picture jumpers, and remember knitting one for Louise that had Gromit on the front. I did, a bit of Cross Stitch for which I have designed my own charts, and I have done a bit of dressmaking. Mind you only good enough for myself, whereas my daughter wishes to make a career from dressmaking.
My obsession with paper crafting started several years ago when I hurt my back at work and was off for quite a few months until I was recovered. I was casually hoping through the TV channels one day and came across Create and Craft. I watched a card making show and thought "I can do that". Digital Crafting to me is an amazing thing, much more cost effective than buying paper kits all of the time. I presently have in the region of 250 paper craft CDs and USBs. I still find new ones that I want, and still go back to favorites that I have had for years. I have worked with my own digital designs in the past, but now concentrate on my own handmade items.
I love card making, and Have improved enormously since my first cards. Technology has also helped to improve what I end up with. I like to do a bit of scrapbooking, but I really should do more. In this digital age I think it is important that we still have some "Hard Copies" of important events in our lives. I recently discovered Memory Book Making, and it has turned int a bit of an obsession. I have quite a few Memory Book Cutting Dies, and Cutting Files to use on my Scan and Cut. I am working on designing some digital cutting files of my own.
I have also recently taken up Mixed Media. I'm not sure anybody but me would want to put my stuff on the walls, but I am having a great time getting messy.
