Christmas Wreath Decoration.

I made this Wreath using files from a Carnation crafts Christmas usb. It was really easy to make.

It comes with all of the mats and layers you need as well as all of the decoupage.

There are 3 mat layers. I cut two base layers in black, a middle layer in gold and the top layer in black.

I cut two base layers because I have put a ribbon loop at the top so you can hang the finished Wreath up. I simply held the ribbon in place with a piece of tape and then sandwiched it between the two black base layers. Then I added the gold layer and finally the black top layer.

Next was the decoupage. I printed the decoupage onto 128gsm Navigator paper. This is my go to paper. The print quality is exellent. I get mine in bulk from amazon but if you have a Wilko nearby they sell it as well.

I glued the base layer in place flat. Then I added the decoupage pieces using silicone glue. I shaped the pieces to give a better effect by just gently moulding the pieces with my fingers.

The sentiment was cut from another file on the same usb. It did come with a vignette in gold but when I printed it it just did not work with the gold on the Wreath. In my wisdom I decided to cut it out of mirri card.

You may have heard that mirri card is a nightmare to cut on a scan and cut. Well when I had my cm900 it cut like a dream. On this machine I had no problem with with the mat layers. It was a very different story with the sentiment. Did not like it at all. Because the card is a layered card in some places it didn't cut all of the way through. I ended up snipping the white bits out with a small pair of scissors. To hide the bits I could not get out I added some gold glitter. So be warned mirri card on the Scan and cut may not be a good idea.

Once I was happy with the sentiment I stuck it in place. Be careful just to put glue on the parts of the sentiment that are in contact with the Wreath. I would hate you to stick your hard work to your desk.

If you would like to see a video of how I made this Wreath here is the link Christmas Wreath

I hope you like it

Until next time

Happy Crafting
