Create and Craft

I have shopped with Create and Craft since 2004 when I hurt my back at work and was stuck at home. I remember at the time the hosts were Alan and Barry. The shows were all pre recorded back then.

The card making  bug got me and a couple of years later I became a Craft club member.

Over the years like everyone else I have had the odd problem. I heard many people complain about bad customer service. In all honesty I could never say that. If I ever had a problem it was sorted out quickly and efficiently.

Earlier in the year Create and Craft were taken over by the Craft Channel. For me that was a disaster.

I ordered a copy of the Lynda Ravenscroft usb Fairies after Dark. I got a dispatch notice but a week later no usb. I emailed C&C and got a message saying they would contact me in  the next 7 days. Then they emailed me to say there was a delay with the usb. If that was the case why did I get a dispatch notice. Eventually after 2 weeks I finally recieved the usb.

I ordered the In The Studio Christmas usb with a free pack of rice paper. I recieved the free gift but not the usb. It took three emails before I got a response and it was to ask if I recieved the usb or was it damaged. I angrily responded by letting them know nothing had changed and I had the free gift but not the usb. They promised to get a replacement out to me. A week later no usb so I demanded my money back. Four days later the usb arrived. All in all it took a month to get the usb which of course was paid for at the time it was ordered.

Next I got an email to say my flexypayment had been declined and my account was frozen. That was rubbish because I absolutly had enough funds to cover the payment. It also meant I had no access to my Tattered Lace Digital Subscription which is fully paid for. I emailed them and was told they would respond within 7 days. They did not.

I contacted Highlight Crafts as they publish the digital magazine. I realise it was not their fault but could they help with my digital subscription. They tried to help and were told by Create and Craft that they had sent several emails and left voice messages non of which I had responded to.

I checked my emails, including my junk file and there was nothing. I knew for a fact they had not left voice mails on my mobile or landline. I was furious so I rang them. I was told by the customer service advisor that nothing Highlight Crafts had told me was true. He continued by telling me there had been a glitch with the banking system which had effected a huge number of customers and they would be in contact to sort it out as soon as possible.

After a week I emailed them again. I got the we will respond in the next 7 days email, and a few days later an email to say I was on the list to be contacted.

I emailed again to say I wanted access to my paid for digital subscription. No response.

Last Ftiday saw me locked out of my account for 2 weeks. Since then I have emailed them everyday and so far have had no response other than we will contact you in the next 7 days. I am still locked out of my account.

I will never buy from Create and Craft again. Their customer service at best is diabolical. I shall continue to watch, but if there is anything I want I will be buying directly from the company.

I hope you never experience any of the problems I have had.

                 Until Next Time

                 Happy Crafting.

Making Videos

As you know I am busy getting content onto my YouTube Channel. I have made several videos over the last couple of weeks. I am not 100% comfortable with talking on videos. I am very aware of my very Geordie accent. I also get very nervous and feel like I am stumbling over my words, or in some places I feel there are awkward silences. I have tried making videos with no commentary in them, but they aren't right either. I am hoping I have found the solution to my problem. I have discovered this handy little app. It has enabled me to edit photos together and add text instructions to the pictures. I have been playing with it over the past couple of days, and so far I am impressed. I shall be adding videos made with this app soon. In the meantime if you would like to check out my YouTube Channel  you can find it here  Celticmoon Crafts YouTube Channel Until next time Happy Crafting

Top Tips for Perfect Score Lines

Invest in good scoring board. I have the Ultimate by Crafters Companion. I've been using it for years and it's never let me down yet. There are loads of very good score boards on the market. Do some research, compare diffetent models and pick one that meets your needs and your pocket. Pick a bone folder that meets your needs. Again there are loads on the market. I have a lot of different bone folders I have collected over the years, but my favorite is a Teflon one. It gives a good crease and doesn't mark the card. When you use your bone folder hold it firmly in your hand and use the tip by running it firmly along the fold of your card. I start in the middle of the fold and crease half of the fold and the repeat to form the crease on the second half. Make sure you hold your bone folder at a small low angle. This allows you to apply more pressure as you crease the card. Always score with the grain of the card to get a good crease. If you don't have a score board you can i...
