Create and Craft

I have shopped with Create and Craft since 2004 when I hurt my back at work and was stuck at home. I remember at the time the hosts were Alan and Barry. The shows were all pre recorded back then.

The card making  bug got me and a couple of years later I became a Craft club member.

Over the years like everyone else I have had the odd problem. I heard many people complain about bad customer service. In all honesty I could never say that. If I ever had a problem it was sorted out quickly and efficiently.

Earlier in the year Create and Craft were taken over by the Craft Channel. For me that was a disaster.

I ordered a copy of the Lynda Ravenscroft usb Fairies after Dark. I got a dispatch notice but a week later no usb. I emailed C&C and got a message saying they would contact me in  the next 7 days. Then they emailed me to say there was a delay with the usb. If that was the case why did I get a dispatch notice. Eventually after 2 weeks I finally recieved the usb.

I ordered the In The Studio Christmas usb with a free pack of rice paper. I recieved the free gift but not the usb. It took three emails before I got a response and it was to ask if I recieved the usb or was it damaged. I angrily responded by letting them know nothing had changed and I had the free gift but not the usb. They promised to get a replacement out to me. A week later no usb so I demanded my money back. Four days later the usb arrived. All in all it took a month to get the usb which of course was paid for at the time it was ordered.

Next I got an email to say my flexypayment had been declined and my account was frozen. That was rubbish because I absolutly had enough funds to cover the payment. It also meant I had no access to my Tattered Lace Digital Subscription which is fully paid for. I emailed them and was told they would respond within 7 days. They did not.

I contacted Highlight Crafts as they publish the digital magazine. I realise it was not their fault but could they help with my digital subscription. They tried to help and were told by Create and Craft that they had sent several emails and left voice messages non of which I had responded to.

I checked my emails, including my junk file and there was nothing. I knew for a fact they had not left voice mails on my mobile or landline. I was furious so I rang them. I was told by the customer service advisor that nothing Highlight Crafts had told me was true. He continued by telling me there had been a glitch with the banking system which had effected a huge number of customers and they would be in contact to sort it out as soon as possible.

After a week I emailed them again. I got the we will respond in the next 7 days email, and a few days later an email to say I was on the list to be contacted.

I emailed again to say I wanted access to my paid for digital subscription. No response.

Last Ftiday saw me locked out of my account for 2 weeks. Since then I have emailed them everyday and so far have had no response other than we will contact you in the next 7 days. I am still locked out of my account.

I will never buy from Create and Craft again. Their customer service at best is diabolical. I shall continue to watch, but if there is anything I want I will be buying directly from the company.

I hope you never experience any of the problems I have had.

                 Until Next Time

                 Happy Crafting.

Christmas Wreath Decoration.

I made this Wreath using files from a Carnation crafts Christmas usb. It was really easy to make. It comes with all of the mats and layers you need as well as all of the decoupage. There are 3 mat layers. I cut two base layers in black, a middle layer in gold and the top layer in black. I cut two base layers because I have put a ribbon loop at the top so you can hang the finished Wreath up. I simply held the ribbon in place with a piece of tape and then sandwiched it between the two black base layers. Then I added the gold layer and finally the black top layer. Next was the decoupage. I printed the decoupage onto 128gsm Navigator paper. This is my go to paper. The print quality is exellent. I get mine in bulk from amazon but if you have a Wilko nearby they sell it as well. I glued the base layer in place flat. Then I added the decoupage pieces using silicone glue. I shaped the pieces to give a better effect by just gently moulding the pieces with my fingers. The sentiment was cut from ...

Christmas Album Page 2

Today I have made page 2 of my Classic Christmas Mini Album. Page 2 is a lovely waterfal page. Again I cut the base page to 7.5x7.5 ins. The waterfall pages are 6.5 ins wide x 5ins high. Then scored at  .5 of an inch on the short side. The closure mechanism is 2 ins wide and 6ins long. I then scored at .5 of an inch on the long side. I added glue to this small flap and glued the strip centrally at the bottom of the page. Then I added the main page mat which I cut at 7.25x7.25 ins. The waterfall mats all measure 6.25x4.25ins and we're glued in place. Next I added glue to the flaps on the waterfall pages. Be carefully to line them up properly. I added a tiny topper at the top of the closure. I added a magnet to the back of the topper and the front of the top waterfall page. Remember to do this before you add your decorative paper. If you would like to see a video of how I made this page here is the link  Page 2 I have also made a short video showing how I add pages to my albums which...
