My Crafty Life

I am a lover of all things goth. As an original 80s Goth that isn't really surprising. The love of Goth has never left me. I have for a long time been looking for Goth Scrapbook Papers. Honestly they are just about impossible to get. The closest I have gotten is from Magik Graphics. No complaints because Sue's stuff is amazing. Imagine my delight when I came across this paper collection on etsy  No question about it I just ordered it. Well I am delighted to say it came today. I say paper collection its more like cardstock. The images are exactly what I want. I now need to think of what I'm going to do with them. As well as the 12 x 12 Papers in the pack there was a sheet of rice paper. I know exactly what I am going to do with that  it's going to be the base for a Goth Canvas. In the meantime Happy Crafting 

As ypu k ow I am a great fan of The Brother Scan and Cut. I use it in most of my diffetent crafts, and use it pretty much every day. At the minute there is work going on in my craft room so I can't really get in there to work. So today I am going to share something that I found quite exiting. In 2020 Tatteted Lace produced their first digital subscription. It wasn't rocket science for me to decide to subscribe. So it wasn't long before issue 1 was arriving in my inbox. From the word go I loved it. For me the value for money was outstanding. In fact the only thing I didn't like about it was in  order to access the magazine you have to visit the issue website. It was a bit of a pain if I wanted to check anything because I had to visit the website. Yesterday that changed. Someone posted an issuu downloader so you can convert the magazines into pdf files. As you know I am busy getting content onto my YouTube Channel. I have made several videos over the last couple of weeks. I am not 100% comfortable with talking on videos. I am very aware of my very Geordie accent. I also get very nervous and feel like I am stumbling over my words, or in some places I feel there are awkward silences. I have tried making videos with no commentary in them, but they aren't right either. I am hoping I have found the solution to my problem. I have discovered this handy little app. It has enabled me to edit photos together and add text instructions to the pictures. I have been playing with it over the past couple of days, and so far I am impressed. I shall be adding videos made with this app soon. I made a beautiful card today using a cutting file by The Gentleman Crafter John Bloodworth. I use quite a lot of his cutting files. I love his designs. You can find them in his Creative Fabrica Store. I think this card is stunning and I am glad I chose Black and yellow as they have worked very well. Just a quick post today. I have had a painful foot for a few days and eventually I had to bite the bullet and pay a visit to my doctor. He thinks I may have a stress fracture. Regular painkillers and if it didn't improve go back again. I did exactly that and it did seem to improve so I went back to work yesterday. That was a big mistake as I am now in agony. So I am going bCk to see the doctor again this morning. I'm not sure what I am going to be doing today after that. Normal service will becresumed as soon as possible.                         Until then                      Happy Crafting 

Today I am starting the first of many scan and cut features. I love my Scan and cut and use it almost every day. Today I am going to show ypu a box I made. I made this lovely little box using a file from The Special Shaped Cards usb from Tattered Lace. It's super simple to cut out and put together. It's just two pieces and all you need to do is fold and stick. The kid of the box is decorated with a doily from The Paper Pantry Special Edition cutting files usb. I have just stuck on the layers flat but if you want to you could use some foam pads to give it a bit of dimension. Since I was a child I have been obsessed with Ancient Egypt. I remember visiting the Tutankhamen Exhibition at the British Museum in 1972. The image of his Golden Death Mask will never leave me. For some reason I have a strange affinity for Anubis the Egyptian God of The Dead. He gets some bad publicity. None of it deserved in my opinion. Imagine my delight when I saw a collection of Zuri Moulds on Create and Craft. The star of the show for me wete these two moulds featuring the God Anubis. Next up was Bast the beautiful Cat Goddess. I fully understand why cats wete worshipped as God's in Egypt. The final two moulds sealed the deal for me. Before I knew it they had all jumped into my basket. I'm pleased to say they arrived today and my head us buzzing with ideas about what I am going to make. I have an idea of what my first make will be so check back next week to find out what it is. I have started work on a new Memory Book today. It as you can see is a Fairy Door. I have used files from the Cutting Craftorium Treasured Memories usb. So far I have completed the cover. Next I will be on to the pages. I am making a video showing the makingvof this album from begining to end. Its going to take a lot of time and editing. It's my biggest vidro project yo date so fingers crossed it turns out OK. Till next time Happy Crafting
