Memory Book Cover

I just wanted to show you this Memory Book Cover. Over the weekend I will get the video tutorial onto YouTube  It's a simple to make greyboard cover with a cantilever spine. You can use it as a base for any of your albums. This one however I am going to decorate with Christmas Papers from the Hunkydory Classic Christmas Digital Collection.  The reason for this is because from tomorrow it will be Christmas for the whole of July. Lots of Christmas goodies coming your way.  So until tomorrow Happy Crafting.

Tales Ftom the Orient

Today I have made this card using printouts from the Debbi Moore Oriental Digital Collection. This is how I made it. I started with an A5 card blank. I made this one using a piece of A4 card folded in half. I cut two matching pieces from the backing paper and stuck them in place like this. Then I stuck the first layer of decoupage in place like this. You can use foam pads here if you wish but I prefer to put the first layer down flat. Add foam pads to the next layer. You may think this is overkill but I don't want the image to collapse over time so make sure it is well supported. Carefully line up the image and stick in place like this. Repeat this process with the remaining pieces. Start with the largest and end with the smallest. You will end up with a beautiful 3D image like this  I finished the front of the card with some pretty faux gems. This design also has a matching insert. Simply fold it in half like this. Add some adhesive to the front side of the insert. Line it up insi

Moonlight After Dark usb

I am a huge fan of Linda Ravenscrofts artwork. I was delighted a couple of months back when the Moonlight After Dark usb was released on The Card Hut website. It was available for pre release, so there was no question and I ordered it straight away.   Weeks went by and the release date approached. Then I recieved an email to say due to unforseen circumstances the usb would not be ready in time. They did however send me a file of some decoupage sheets so I could start crafting while I was waiting for the usb to arrive.   I made this card with the files sent to me. The images were just so me. I couldn't wait for the usb to arrive.   More time passed and then I got an email saying unfortunately the usb was not going to be available any longer and I was issued a full refund 😭 About 3 weeks ago I was delighted to see the usb make an appearance on Create and Craft. Yay. Of course I ordered it.  I recieved a dispatch notice on June 13th but a week later I still did not have the usb. I

Scan and Cut Design

As you know I love to make Memory Books. I am presently designing my own Memory Book files. It's still in its very early stages but it's on the go. Here you have a sneak peak of the cover. I hope to have it ready in a couple of weeks. Once it is ready I will try it out. Of course I will be sharing it all with you. Must get back to it now. Until next time Happy Crafting.

Crafting with Zuri

A few weeks back I bought some Zuri Egyptian Moulds from Create and Craft. With the stress in my life over the last couple of weeks I have only just gotten around to using them. I cut the base plate from greyboard using the basic shapes on my scan and cut. The greyboard was recycled from board backed envelopes. I glued 4 layers together to form a sturdy base. I covered the base with a paper from the Tattered Lace Egyptian Classics Collection. I neatened the edges of the paper by simply filing the edges with an emeryboard. I got a big packet of them from Poundland. I painted all of the resin casts I had made with black acrylic paint. When the paint was dry I highlighted all of the casts with Creative Expressions Lustre Polish. Finally I glued all of the pieces onto the base. I used Pinflair glue gel for that because I wanted something strong to hold them in place. I am really happy with the result and plan to use these moulds again in future.

Majestic Cats

I am a huge fan of Pollyanna Pickerings art work. So today's tutorial is made using the Majestic Cats Volume 2 Kit. Many years ago I had a black cat named Heathcliff. This piece of artwork looks so much like him. This is the kit I used. First of all I used a Creative Crafting World cutting file to cut out this doily and the decorative mats for it. The green paper I used for the layers is from the kit. I used an 8 x 8 card blank like this one. Then I cut a square of plain green paper 7 1/2 x 7 1/2 from the kit, cut it in half and mounted it onto the card like this Then I added the layers of the doily like this. Next I added the picture to the middle of the doily. To finish the card off I added a sentiment and some faux gems. I hope you like this card and I have given you some inspiration to try some yourself  Until next time Happy Crafting.

Health Scare

I have been notably absent over the past couple of weeks. The reason is I have had a health Scare. I returned from the MPC Gala in Edinburgh at the begining of May and developed a niggly pain in my right foot. I thought I had overdone it a bit at the Gala so didn't take much notice. However the pain got worse and eventually I had to go and see my Doctor. She thought I may have  a stress fracture and sent me for an X Ray to check. My X Ray showed a lesion on my toe joint that could not be identified. I was immediately referred to an Orthopaedic Oncologist. Then followed the worst two weeks of my life. As a nurse all of the worst case scenario's went through my head. Sometimes a little bit of k owledge is a bad thing. If I slept for 3 hours a night I was lucky. It was just hell. On Friday I finally went for my appointment. I am hugely relieved to say the specialist is certain the lesion is benign. I have to go for an MRI scan but he has no concerns. I do have a fracture which is

Butterfly Card

I made this pretty card today. I used The Kanban Designer Collection Vol. 1 to make it. The Collection on the usb is Butterfly Collection. I used an A5 card blank. Then I printed two commentary papers, and a sheet of toppers. I chose these two toppers from the sheet I printed. I stuck the first backing paper in place using a general craft glue. I cut it 1/2 cm smaller than the card which gives a 1/4 cm border all around. I stuck the next backing paper on top again with a 1/4 cm border all the way around. This is the pretty topper I chose to go on the card. I wanted to give some dimension to the card so I put double sided adhesive foam pads on the back. Make sure you use plenty of foam pads to support the topper. If you don't it's likely over time the topper will collapse and spoil the look of the card. Choose carefully where you want to place the topper on the front of the card. The Paper I used has a lovely butterfly border so I thought just to the side of it looked good. Fina
